Are social networking sites just a fad?

Are they just a fad like the Rubik's Cube, Pokemon and Sudoku?





Or have websites like Myspace and Facebook become an integral part of the internet that will be around for as long as the www itself?

Honestly, this question can have many answers. The best answers you will get with this will be different people's opinions.





My opinion is that they are a bit of both. They are a fad with SOME people, but will always have someone who likes and pays attention to them. Personally, I have a MySpace and would have much difficulty parting with it. It's very useful for many things, not just chatting with friends and such. It's a great way to keep track of family and business. I can see most of these sites staying around for a very long time due to this.

I hav seen people stating up there for hours...for me that hell of addiction is bad, u live in a virtual world and it subsides ur real self...well thats my point of view...but one thing is sure...its gonna stay as long www stays...
