What do you think it means when a person doesn't list their sexual preference on Social Networking sites?

I know I don't list my orientation because I'm hiding that I'm lesbian...but that's just my motivation. I'm interested in a girl and she answered everything but her orientation....is there hope?

What do you think it means when a person doesn't list their sexual preference on Social Networking sites?
Some people just like their privacy. That's my best answer. Personally, I leave my sexual oriention blank as well, because I am Bi, but don't necessarily need my 12 year old niece and 15 year old sister to know all my secrets...not quite yet. However, I think it's probably safe to assume that anyone leaving that question blank is probably Bi or gay, or they would take the time to answer the question.

I'm sort of in transition at the moment, only a few of my friends know I'm a lesbian, and I prefer not to spread it all over the internet before I can tell people in person, and I'm just not ready for that yet. Now that I think about it, it's probably pretty obvious to people that we are hiding something since everyone else has that filled out...


Yes there is hope, that's the same situation with me and my girlfriend, she had left that blank as well, and she just came out to me that she is a lesbian. Definetly go for it!! Good luck!

although i do promote ppl to leave out their orientation on sites like this bc i dont feel its important to know whether someone is interested in men or women or both...bc ppl will like who they like. even if it says interested in men go for it.. u may surprise yourself. but if it says nothing then odds are..... ahha like myself... that they don't particularly want everyone and their 2nd cousin to know that they are in fact gay or bi. they might not be hiding it at all.... there are just some ppl out there that dont need to know about it. ya kno?!

its hard to tell sometimes though. i've fallen for a girl and i cannot, for the life of me, figure out her sexuality. what makes it worse is that i assume that people will think i like girls and i'm not butch either, i just don't act like straight girls do but her touching me, starring at me, asking me to massage parts of her body just makes me think that she does too. But then i don't know if thats how she acts with everyone...
